Proper Coffee Brewing Makes for Perfect Coffee

Actually, this great cup of coffee you just had could be the exact same one as you had at home but the secret lies in the coffee machine. If you are using an inferior piece of equipment for your coffee brewing you could be defeating your purpose of trying to get superior coffee. To begin with, you may be picking up components from the paper filter, which is giving an adverse taste to your brew. Some coffee makers will actually destroy the good characteristics of your coffee by either heating it too fast, or for too long.

Then again, you may also have had a hand in spoiling the perfect cup by adding either too much or not enough coffee. Ideally, for six ounces of water you should use about 2 tbsp. of your coffee. The water temperature should reach no less that 195 F to max of 205F.

Another thing you really need to pay attention to in your coffee brewing is what kind of water you are using. You may have gone to extra lengths here and been using good quality distilled bottled water. If so then you have been doing your coffee and injustice. Minerals help to bring the flavor out in coffee and distilled water doesn’t have any. So although it may not have made your coffee taste any worse the distilled water certainly did not bring out its best. Stay away from using tap water as it usually will really affect the taste adversely. Don’t forget there are chemicals in tap water. So then what does that leave you with? Two choices actually which are filtered or spring water. Before you run out and buy what is being promoted as a state of the art coffee pot try the measures we have just covered. If you still aren’t getting that fantastic cup of coffee then next on the agenda is a new coffee brewer. Picking one of these is not going to be any easy task either because you are going to find you have multiple choices. There are French pressers, vacuum coffee pots, and of course, the automatic drip, which is most likely the type, you are using now. So which is the best? Many people that are really serious about superior coffee prefer the French presses, but ultimately its going to come  down  to as at what point are you going to be satisfied with your cup of home brewed coffee.
