Coffee Recipes For Coffee Lovers Around The World

In addition, the truth of the matter is that anyone can make these expensive beverages in the comfort of their own homes, and for many times less than they would spend at a coffee shop. The most expensive part of making a good cup of coffee at home is the initial investment in flavored syrups.  Of course, unlike the owners and/or operators of commercial coffee shops, when you are buying syrups for your own use, you only have to buy the flavors you like. If you have fairly limited taste, the cost will be nominal, and once purchased, these syrups last a long time, and probably only cost you a few cents per serving. Additionally, don’t underestimate the taste-payoff you can garner from investing in high-quality coffee.  When it comes to coffee, you generally get what you pay for, and the more expensive brands tend to be less bitter and have richer, more complex flavors. One of the most popular coffee recipes of all times is your standard café au lait.  This is, quite simply, coffee with milk.   Most people prefer to use cold milk in their café au lait, but others swear by steamed, textured milk.  It is really a matter of personal preference; however the standard ratio is 1 part milk per 8 parts coffee (or 1 ounce of milk for every cup of coffee).   Some people also like to incorporate sugar into their café au lait, at the ratio of about one to two teaspoons for every 8 ounces. Another very popular coffee recipe is the café mocha, or a coffee incorporated with chocolate flavoring.  If you want to impress your guests, try this rich and decadent recipe.  Start by brewing a pot of strong, Colombian coffee.   Immediately after the coffee brewing cycle completes, pour the coffee into individual serving-sized cups (6-8 ounces each).  Immediately stir one tablespoon powdered cocoa into each cup, ensuring that the cocoa is completely dissolved.  Follow with one ounce of chilled, heavy cream in each glass, and top with a generous dollop of whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup.  Serve immediately. An easy variation of the above recipe is the peppermint mocha.  To transform your café mocha into delicious peppermint mocha, simply add one pump (or ½ ounce) of peppermint syrup to the above recipe.  Garnish with a peppermint stick or candy cane, an in addition to the chocolate drizzle, top your whipped cream with crumbled candy cane or shaved peppermint bark.
