Coffee Liquors - A Most Warming Homemade Treat

Of course, even with many bars and clubs lowering or eliminating their cover charges and dropping the costs of their signature drinks, many people are still turning to their own kitchens to get their favorite spirit-infused beverages.  The reason for this is actually two-fold.  One, it is far less expensive to make mixed drinks at home, and two, most high-end mixed drinks are far easier to make than their names (and flavors) would lead you to believe. Some of the newest and trendiest types of gourmet mixed drinks involve the usage of coffee liquors.  Indeed, these beverages are sweeping both the bar scene and trendy kitchens everywhere, are typically loved by anyone who enjoys a good cup of coffee, and span the spectrum from hot black coffee-type drinks to cold, icy, frothy alcoholic beverages that mimic the high-end coffee drinks sold at coffee shops the world over. If you have considered incorporating coffee liquors into your Friday night repertoire, rest assured that you have a wide variety of options for liquor brands, so you are practically guaranteed to find a product that meets your needs and suits your budget.  If you have never purchased coffee liquors before, simply describe how you intend to use it to an employee at your local liquor store, and they can generally recommend the best brand to suit your particular purpose. Once you have purchased your preferred brand of coffee liquor, the sky is pretty much the limit when it comes to the ways you can use it.  In fact, not only are coffee liquors ideal for making mixed drinks, both traditional and exotic, they can also be incorporated into a wide variety of recipes; primarily desserts and other sweets.  In fact, more and more people are finding ways to incorporate these coffee liquors into their favorite dessert recipes, and more and more of these recipe creators are posting their delicious concoctions online or publishing them in cookbooks or in trade magazines. One of the easiest and most crowd pleasing ways to show off your skills with coffee liquors is to host a small get together and make a couple blenders full of coffee liquor-infused, iced, blended coffee.  All you need are your favorite iced coffee ingredients and a bottle of your favorite brand of coffee liquor.  And all you have to do is to combine the iced coffee ingredients together in a blender, blend, and then add coffee liquor to taste. If you want to get really creative and appear really inspired to your friends, serve the beverages in chilled glasses and top with whipped cream, and either chocolate or caramel topping (or both) OR sprinkle with chocolate shavings or cinnamon.  Just make sure that the drinks are well blended to avoid ice chunks.
